Art, Painting assignment ideas, Major work need topic.?

hey, i need some ideas for Any topics i can use for my major painting this year, it can be painting, sculpting, drawing anything.
i needed a theme that i can Create around 2-3 paintings or whatever under.
example, a girl last year chose "eating carrots let you see in the dark", "Swallowing watermelon seed makes watermelon tree's grow inside you" and "if the wind change your face stays that way".
i really liked it but any opinions or ideas are greatly appreciated.
i roughly have around 12 months to complete them.

your topic: Jacob's Ladder. you can work with the Adrian Lyne film, the Bruce Springsteen song (and Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven) and many more (it's quite a classic theme) and turn it into any art you choose, using the image or meaning of your topic. and don't forget to photograph it whenever you can, it's such a lovely sight!
