A question for anyone who has a 'Worm Factory' composting bin?

Once you have the bin set up with worms in it, how long does it take before you can begin harvesting their castings? And how hard is it to do? Supposedly with this system, the worms migrate up to the other trays where there is fresh bedding and food. Does this mean that all I have to do is remove the top layers, empty the castings in the lower layer and put it back? How exactly do you harvest and how does the system work? Thanks for any tips and info you can give.
